Shibayama Insect poison pendant

$465.00

A tiny piece of natural history, made to be worn.

This unusual sterling silver poison box pendant features three tiny insects created with natural stone inlay, their delicate bodies catching the light against a polished silver surface.

Inspired by the centuries-old tradition of poison boxes and secret compartments, the hinged case opens to reveal a hidden space for keeping something small and personal.

The insect details give a nod to the Japanese art of Shibayama, a decorative inlay technique dating back to the 18th century, known for its intricate depictions of insects, flowers, and the natural world.

Materials: Sterling silver and natural stone inlay.

Style: Shibayama-inspired poison box pendant.

A collection of strange and beautiful pieces I’ve discovered along the way. As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to the work of other makers. The unusual, the imperfect, the things that feel like they have a story to tell.

Artist Findings is a small collection of pieces I’ve personally collected, admired, or discovered over the years. Some are vintage, some are by artists I know personally, and others are by makers whose names have been lost along the way.

Each piece was chosen because it’s something I would want in my own collection. And I thought you might appreciate them too.
